Who’s excited for fall? The crisp, sharp air and falling leaves. . . okay. That’s not so much what fall looks like here in SW Florida, but it’s the autumn I remember as a kid growing up in the Northeast!
It’s true that I’ve made South Florida my home for closer to two decades than one, but when September comes around, it is New England vibes for days. My recipes are no different – and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!

So, the truth is, I’ve made nearly everything in the article linked below – but – one of the easiest ways to dive into adorable fall baking has got to be that split bundt pumpkin spice cake pictured up at the top! I know, I know, it may look intimidating, but trust me. If you follow the recipe and Don’t Rush, you can accomplish ANYTHING!

In the meantime though, here is the recipe for my fun fall favorite –
Practically Homemade Pumpkin Cake
- 1 box yellow cake mix, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 3/4 cup pumpkin
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup sugar
Cream Cheese Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Icing
- 3 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 5-6 tablespoons milk
- red and yellow food coloring
- optional: real pumpkin stem
